In My Backyard
As a writer, I have always considered my backyard to be a source of wealth.  Thus, I write about the familiar and what is culturally significant.  I looked at my backyard from a literary perspective.  However, one night  that was changed because of a dream.

In the dream, I saw three women in a circle.  They were dressed in a long sleeved dress; and the skirts had  an apron.  Their  clothes reflected the era of my great grandmother... the late nineteenth  or early twentieth century or a time before her.  They said nothing; but in the background behind them, I saw a black substance coming out of the ground.  In time it became clearer and was eventually a powerful fountain.  Since I was focusing on the fountain, I do not know when the women disappeared from my dream.

My backyard had a well when I was a child.  This ten foot cavern had a mystic attraction for me.  One day I fell in and explored its brackish depths.  Just before the tide turned in that springtide well, I was rescued by my brother.  I did not get close enough in the dream to discover the nature of the fountain.  However, I know it is natural wealth; and it was in  my own backyard.

Since that dream, God has spoken to me about using nature as a part  of my service as an educator.  It is included in  a seven point plan called Ripple Of Love.  After I received the plan in December 2002, I began to visualize how to implement it.  Between January and June 2003,  I have had to straighten some wrinkles that come with a Pilot Plan.or Program. Nevertheless, I know it works; and  I am prepared to continue to follow the guidelines given by the Master, Rabbi Jesus.

In my backyard, there is wealth and health.

My Backyard
In my back yard there is wealth
And a variety of things to promote good health.
When you are feeling glum,
Enjoy delicious, yellow hog plum.
Do you know someone who acts silly?
Treat that person to a sapodilly.
When you sample a tasty paw paw,
If you like it, you can come back for more.
Some say it takes two to tango;
You do not need a partner to eat mango.
Boiled fish, grits and avocado pear
Can be eaten at a special time of the year.
When you are feeling worn and weary
Try some  of our tangy gooseberry.
Tamarind, whether in marinade, balls  or sauce
Is delicious and is certainly the boss.
Custard apple is a tantalizing treat.
This variety requires no heat.

Even though this may not make sense
A pensive gowling once paced our fence.
I have seen a bluebreast, finches and even an owl;
For nature's goodies these birds often prowl.
Lemon, monarchs, zebra butterflies too
All come to sample our natural brew.
Although right now we have no puppies,
We look forward to having a small pool with guppies.
In our backyard there is wealth
And natural things to foster good health.
Besides the hog that is slaughtered for pork, do you know any edible food that contains 'hog'?
Clues: hog f- - -  , hog p- - -, hog b- - - - -
